Christian TEFL is pleased to announce that it is working alongside Cambodia Action, a UK based, evangelical, inter-denominational mission and development agency, founded in 1973 by Major Taing Chhirc of the Cambodian Evangelical Church.
Cambodia Action’s objective is to promote the Christian faith and relieve poverty and distress amongst the people of Cambodia, by assisting church growth and proclaiming the transforming love of God through development projects and ministries focusing on the poor and marginalised.
Cambodia Action is a member of International Co-operation Cambodia (ICC), a partnership of five Christian Missions working together in poverty alleviation projects and serving the marginalised people of Cambodia. The organisation initiates and encourages a number of social and micro-enterprise projects to enrich the lives of Cambodians. These include the VIDP Project, which inspires and equips the local leaders and communities (including local church leaders and members) with a vision for having a better quality of village livelihood by empowering the communities wholistically using their own resources.
Another project that CA is involved with is the Bright Future programme – a collaboration with PPC (Pioneering Partnership in Cambodia), a local NGO established by staff from Cambodia Action. Bright Future works with children from poor communities to help them gain access to school.
Cambodia Action is also looking to place ESL teachers with their provincial projects, to improve language skills amongst the now largely Cambodian national leadership as well as their staff, who need to relate to the international community. You can find out more about this service opportunity on our Mission Placements page.
Cambodia Action is one of the organisations you can donate part of your course fees to if you enrol on any TEFL course with Christian TEFL. Simply email us when you enrol to let us know when you book your course.
