Resources for creating successful ESL lessons part 1

We often get asked for links to free or affordable lesson material for teaching English. So in this first of a four part series, we have outlined our favourite websites, books and resources and why we like them.  Enjoy browsing and we hope you find these links useful for your classes.

1. 50 conversation classes

8. English Grammar in Use
Fantastic book resource aimed at English learners but great for ESL teachers: simple grammar explanations, exercises and answer key. Such a popular title, you should easily be able to order second-hand: https://www.amazon.co.uk/English-Grammar-Use-Answers-CD-ROM/dp/052118939X

9. Your English Source
ESOL photocopiables, task sheets and teacher notes for field trips like ‘at the grocery store’ or ‘cooking.’ Try 3 free and download 40 such lessons for between $5 and $15. http://yourenglishsource.com/activity-based/

10. iSLCollective 
Free ESL printables made by teachers from iSLCollective. You’ll need to sign-up as a member,
