Today on the Christian TEFL blog we are featuring a new programme from one of our partner organisations, TeachBeyond. Have a read and be inspired…

We envision a world where no border restricts access to an education that transforms lives through Christ’s love.
With war, conflict, and persecution on the rise globally, the number of displaced people around the globe is also on the rise. An estimated 68.5 million people have been forced to flee from their homes in recent years. Of that number, nearly 25.4 million are currently refugees who leave behind all that’s familiar: home, country, community, and livelihood in a desperate attempt to escape the dangers. More than half of these refugees are children. (unhcr.org).
LESVOS, GREECE: While working towards opening our own learning centre, we currently partner with other organisations to teach children and adults English. The focus is on literacy, numeracy, and the arts. We are building relationships with refugees in the neighbouring refugee camp, assessing educational needs, and responding as we can.
We are also working with refugees in Germany and Ethiopia and are planning work in Mafraq, Jordan; Belgrade, Serbia; and Northern Italy.
