Job Description

Teach English with WEC

Teaching English provides your students with a vital life skill, while offering you a wonderful opportunity to build relationships and share the gospel.

An English Teacher position is often a visa platform to enter a country that would be closed to religious workers, enabling you to rub shoulders with those who would otherwise never meet a Christian.

We have opportunities in Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe, Central and South America in schools, colleges, universities or private tuition and through Christian educational businesses.

We also have opportunities to serve with our Neighbours Worldwide teams reaching out to immigrants and students here in the UK and Ireland through English teaching.

Start date, hours per week and length of contract/duties (or various, if that is more appropriate):
Start any month. Lead in time for application, interview and orientation is usually around 3-4 months before commencing placement.  Commitment required can be anything from 2 weeks to 2 years or longer.

Volunteer/Paid:
WEC UK is a faith-based fellowship, made up of a network of committed volunteers, and does not pay a salary for any of the opportunities advertised. We encourage you to discuss with your church leadership about good support including prayer.

Programme fee/arrangement fee:
Actual trip costs will vary depending on location and period of service. In the UK a 3-day orientation course is required (usually Friday-Sunday). From £100 per individual for Short-term Orientation covers screening and preparation costs, devotional materials to take with you, plus debriefing and follow up afterwards. Long-term membership would require more thorough orientation and preparation.
