You’ll receive great support to develop your understanding of TEFL concepts and methodology, along with practical tips and videos to show you how to teach English across a range of teaching settings. A personal tutor will guide you through key TEFL concepts and this course will help you motivate your students to learn English quickly and effectively.

Quality assurance is guaranteed by one of the UK’s most established TEFL accrediting bodies, ACTDEC and this course leads to the ACTDEC accredited Level 5 qualification. Fantastic value for money for anyone serious about developing their understanding and knowledge of teaching English.

What makes a Christian TEFL course different?

Christian TEFL works alongside six mission partners which reach out with the gospel through teaching English: Cambodia Action, ReachAcross, TeachBeyond, WEC International, People International, and Interserve. All profits from each course sale to support these organisations, or you can choose to bless ESOL outreach, as we work with churches supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.

How this interactive course works

You take this course through the Global English TESOL website, and it is ideal if you’ve got a good broadband connection and can work entirely online via a tablet/PC/Mac. You’ll complete interactive exercises, create lesson plans and view videos and graphics that bring the course to life.

Eligibility

We welcome candidates from all walks of life, and therefore our Christian TEFL courses are open to both native and non-native English speakers who are over 17 years old, with good written and spoken English. If you are a non-native English speaker, please ask us if you are not sure about your level of English, so that we can give you some guidance as to what we expect. We can also point you towards a test of English, meaning you can check your English level before you enrol. As a general guide, we would expect you to have an IELTS level of 6.5, which should enable you to complete the course successfully.

Duration

Most candidates complete their 250-hour course within 12-24 weeks, but we go at your pace and allow up to 12 months for course completion. Of course, you can complete it as quickly as you wish and inside a month is possible if you plan to study full time.

Everything you require to finish the course and gain your certificate is included in the single fee above. However, check out these optional extras:

  • additional time course extensions are available if you need to go beyond 365 days
  • Global English printed and embossed certificate posted to you (£20 UK / £25 outside)

This course works effectively as a standalone programme or can be blended with any other Global English TESOL specialist programme. Click on the orange visit site link below to discover more. Note that material cannot be downloaded and worked on offline, although you can print any part of the course or order a soft copy version for an additional fee.

Looking to get trained more quickly? Consider the 120-hour Classic TEFL, which leads to an ACTDEC accredited Level 3 qualification. You can advance to the 250-hour qualification with an extension course later if you wish.

5 reviews for Worldwide 250-hour TEFL Course

I found the structure of the study guides and variety of tasks in each module very good. It was good to have both short and long answer questions. The extra help notes for lesson plans in the earlier modules were very helpful and, though I missed these when it came to the later modules, I can see that it was beneficial to need to develop the ability to have a go without the extra support at the later stage of the course. Denise Parker was such a helpful tutor-very encouraging and thorough in feedback for each module and I was also impressed with how quickly modules were marked and returned. I think the course was a great combination of building up knowledge of linguistics/grammar etc but keeping this grounded in the practical application of being effective in a TEFL classroom.

I really loved the range of topics, and especially how the different aspects (reading, writing, grammar, etc.) were developed alongside of each other rather than separately. I also liked how you pointed the students towards further study/didn’t claim to be the final authority. The fact that you’re online, Christian, and want to provide a tool for people to serve the Lord can’t be beat by any other program. I don’t regret doing this at all. And thank you for the effort and making this possible. I appreciate your encouragement along the way, your prompt attention, and making it accessible online. It was very convenient for me.

The course was varied in its answering formats and eased you in to the learning and in effect gradually increasing the difficulty in expectation of answering as you grow in the subject

  4. Araceli Herrera

I enjoyed the way the course was presented and the content especially the linguistics. I saw your interest in me throughout the course.

  5. Jen H.

I really enjoyed this course. My tutor was really helpful and her feedback was authentic, encouraging and clear. I enjoyed being able to ask my tutor questions, especially those related by faith and within the teaching context, and I appreciate her responses and shared experiences of teaching. I thought the modules were divided into good sections, that were achievable to get through and provided a good context and amount of information. I thought the balance between multiple choice, short answer, long essay and lesson plan assignments was well balanced. Great resources provided with each module and helpful to have links to useful websites and pages. Overall the communication was excellent, work and questions were answered very promptly, likewise with any messages that I sent. I thought the course resources available for the modules was very helpful and I have made lots of notes throughout the course.
