You take this course through the Global English TESOL website, and it is ideal if you’ve got a good broadband connection and can work entirely online via a tablet/PC/Mac. You’ll complete interactive exercises, create lesson plans and view videos and graphics that bring the course to life.
Eligibility
We welcome candidates from all walks of life, and therefore our Christian TEFL courses are open to both native and non-native English speakers who are over 17 years old, with good written and spoken English. If you are a non-native English speaker, please ask us if you are not sure about your level of English, so that we can give you some guidance as to what we expect. We can also point you towards a test of English, meaning you can check your English level before you enrol. As a general guide, we would expect you to have an IELTS level of 6.5, which should enable you to complete the course successfully.
Duration
Most candidates complete their 250-hour course within 12-24 weeks, but we go at your pace and allow up to 12 months for course completion. Of course, you can complete it as quickly as you wish and inside a month is possible if you plan to study full time.
Everything you require to finish the course and gain your certificate is included in the single fee above. However, check out these optional extras:
- additional time course extensions are available if you need to go beyond 365 days
- Global English printed and embossed certificate posted to you (£20 UK / £25 outside)

The Classic 120-hour TEFL course from Christian TEFL is a great way to start your TEFL career, especially if you want to train in a friendly Christian environment. This 120-hour online course is accredited to ACTDEC Level 3. Train at your at your pace and benefit from continuous assessment as you work through set tasks. 0Designed by qualified and experienced ESOL practitioners, this short 70-hour course focuses on the practical elements of teaching English to speakers of other languages in the UK and how to deliver relevant, functional English lessons.
Why this course?
This online course contains ESOL-specific training, materials and videos. these give you a comprehensive introduction to teaching English to second language learners. You’ll benefit from continuous assessment as you work through set tasks and receive consistent, supportive feedback from an experienced Christian tutor. You have the options of joining our online TESOL forum for ESOL, in addition to optional grammar and TESOL groups in our Facebook family.
The course looks at the needs of refugees and asylum seekers in the UK, and addresses how we can best support them as they seek to learn or improve their English. As with all good ESOL courses, there is a strong focus on teaching functional English for everyday life, alongside how to teach the basic skills and essential grammar ESOL students need, so you can develop effective classes for your learners.
The course leads to a Global English Introduction to ESOL certificate.
The course is fully accredited by Accreditation Council for TESOL Distance Education Courses (ACTDEC) for a Level 2 accreditation.

It’s ideal if you’ve got a good broadband connection and are happy working at your own speed online through a computer or tablet. It’s PC/Mac compatible.
